Well, I could say I’m a celebrity, living a glamorous life in Los Angeles with my chauffeur and butler but my reality is very different from that…well kind of.
I am in fact, a 24-year-old (eek!) girl from Bonnie Scotland! I don’t think my body could handle the hotter climate for an extended time, I would simply be miserable! Anyways, I live with my wonderful husband, Joseph, and our adorable doggo, Jasper, who keep me busy and feeling loved. [Comment over on Instagram if you would like a post on how both Joseph & Jasper came into my life!]
I work as a care assistant in a nursing home, looking after the 24 residents in my care 13 hours a day, 3 days a week. It is certainly a tiring job, but I absolutely adore it and could not imagine doing anything else! I love to interact with the residents in any way possible, having long conversations with them about their lives, participating in various activities and going on outings [elderly people have better social lives than me!]
Enough of the boring background stuff and on to the purpose of beginning my blog/website.
Aside from working, I have a keen interest in journaling. In May 2018, I began creating my first bullet journal [In case you haven’t heard of this, here is a link to a YouTube video explaining Ryder Carroll’s method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm15cmYU0IM ] Essentially it is like a planner/diary whereby you can use it to write down events and tasks whilst incorporating your own spin with things such as pictures & drawings.
I cannot remember exactly how I came across this initially but I believe it was when I was lost in the world of YouTube (I’m sure you have all been there at some point!) and ended up watching several hours of videos with people explaining how they had adapted the original method to suit them in their lives.
On my website ( www.hugzncrafts.co.uk ) I will be sharing pages from my own bullet journal with you guys and explaining how I make them and the resources that I use, with some pages being featured here on my blog as well. I want to be encouraging to people who are interested in beginning their own bullet journals and create a community where you guys can share your ideas (there is always an opportunity to learn something new!)
Alongside journaling, I like to do other craft projects and putting my Cricut Maker to good use [Shout-out to Joseph who kindly bought me this £400 machine for Christmas 2018 ♥] I have not yet had a chance to utilise it to its’ full potential but, when I do, I will be sure to share what I make with you guys and if you own/have used/seen a Cricut machine then feel free to give me ideas & share what you have made!
In addition to crafting and journaling, I enjoy organising things. Weird, I know, but that’s just me 😊 My life in general is not in order but some things I must have organised in a specific way. I am about to share a few of my unusual needs…please don’t judge… all of my coat hangers are identical (I cannot have mixed types/colours), I have a ring binder solely for lined paper and another for polypockets, my handbag has everything I could possibly need in it whilst still being quite small and finally, I have spent a number of hours organising and reorganising my craft room.
I will be making some blog posts about the ways in which I organise certain things, probably beginning with the organisation of my craft room which has been my latest big project. In it I will share where I bought the stuff I used to organise [mainly Ikea!] and any tips & tricks that I have learned along the way.
I’m sure you will be pleased to know that I have said all I want to say for the moment, so thank you very much if you have made it all the way to the end of this and I hope this helped you to find out a little bit [more than you bargained for] about me!
Hugz N Crafts, Sarah xoxo
